Resources

Here are some resources that we use for our own professional development in the ‘People Skills’ field, and other resources that we use as appropriate with clients.

Personal assessment tools

Two popular tools for personal and professional development are CliftonStrengths and DiSC. We use these tools as appropriate when working with individuals and organisations to help with that most essential of people skills: self-awareness.

The most important thing about these tools is not the report you get, but what you do about it. Both tools provide guidance on on-going actions and behavioural changes you can take to fully benefit from the personal insights the tools provide.

We help clients interpret their reports and plan a program of behavioural change. We provide on-going coaching to keep people on track withtheir personal and professional growth.

Clifton Strengths

CliftonStrengths focuses on identifying individual’s natural talents. By taking a detailed online assessment, individuals uncover their top strengths, such as empathy, communicating or strategic thinking. Cliftons has identified 34 strengths and the assessment ranks them 1 to 34 for participants.

Benefits

  • Personal Growth: Self-awareness, understanding and developing your inherent strengths to maximise your potential.

  • Career Development: Align your career path with your strengths for greater job satisfaction and performance. Avoiding pathways that don’t allow you to play to your strengths.

  • Team Dynamics: When everyone in a team takes the Clifton Strengths assessment, there is greater awareness of each other’s strengths, so less friction arising from misunderstanding fellow team members, and it enables the team to leverage the diverse strengths of its members.

How It Works

Participants complete an assessment that reveals their top strengths, offering insights into how these can be applied for personal and professional success. The focus is on building on what you naturally do well. The premise is that when people play to their strengths, they are more productive, happier better leaders and collaborators and more likely to stay at an organisation.
