Steven Smith began his professional career as a teacher in the humanities. He went on to create United Focus consultancy to advise governments and private companies on change management as they grappled with the emerging digital world.
He developed digital transformation strategies for organisations and developed tools and resources to support their transition. He wrote a book, Living Websites, and delivered papers, workshops at conferences across Australia and in North America.
Steven was a Director at KPMG Australia in the Private Enterprise practice where he consulted to client organisations on digital-related strategies and change management.
He has held Chair and board roles for not-for-profits, government agencies and industry bodies.
He has degrees in Arts and in Education from the University of Adelaide and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Steven consults to a national software developer SRA Information Technology, as it Performance Coach.
He manages their professional development, leadership skills, and team management and performance. He uses various tools and resources in performing that role, including the Clifton Strengths assessment for which he is a Certified Clifton Strengths Coach.
